On the last day of Term Two, students, staff and parents are permitted to wear the colours of their favourite football team (Aussie Rules, Gaelic, Rugby or Soccer) Go the Blues!!!! or perhaps the Saints?
Sholem Aleichem College students participate in many performances in the community – Montefiore Homes, Wednesday Club, Jewish festivals, Yom Hashoa, Yom Ha’atzmaut and when scheduled, In One Voice.
Our students will participate in the National Competitions for Maths, Science and Computer Studies organised by the University of New South Wales.
Our school fosters an environment in which students are encouraged to participate, and to take on leadership and responsibility. Within this framework the students are engaged in a study of democracy, and to take on roles such as House Leaders or School Captains/Prime Minister.
As part of our community service the students of Sholem Aleichem College sponsor a little boy who lives in Ethiopia. Each year, on World Vision Day (15th September), the students bring gold coins to raise money to pay for his education for the next year. The little boy’s name is Yonas Shefira..

Dramalicious is an exciting after school drama program that has been embraced by students at Sholem. There are two groups in the program, Kinder – Grade 1 and Grade 2 -6. The students are taught a variety of dramatic skills, focussing on improving self-confidence and imagination. Working as a group, students will not only learn acting but will also benefit from the development of self-confidence, self-expression, interactive music and movement, voice projection and public speaking. Students work towards dramatic performances, including an end of year performance and those for parents and school assemblies. The drama program is especially devised for young students under the guidance of Sharon Zisin, a veteran Drama Teacher of over 20 years.
