At Sholem Aleichem College, we believe in nurturing every child's unique talents and providing diverse opportunities for them to shine. This term, our enthusiastic Year 5 and 6 students have embarked on an incredibly exciting journey: a hands-on filmmaking project! This initiative is already proving to be a thrilling experience, allowing our students to explore their creativity and develop invaluable skills.

We're incredibly fortunate that our students have begun working with Mr. Mike Feurstein (Mr. Mike), a professional film producer who has collaborated with our college for a number of years. Mr. Mike is providing invaluable expertise, guiding our young filmmakers through the intricate world of film production. Our students are receiving wonderful support from their teachers as they bring their cinematic visions to life.

This project is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the entire filmmaking process. From script development and scene planning to mastering camera angles and sound, our students are gaining practical experience in every facet. There are exciting roles for students both in front of and behind the camera, allowing every child to find their niche and develop new skills, fostering their creativity and problem-solving abilities. It's a fantastic example of how we provide outstanding education in an environment where children can develop their self-worth and sense of responsibility.

Our students are absolutely loving the experience, immersing themselves in every aspect of production, and the set has

been buzzing with excitement! Filming is currently underway and will continue until August 11th. We can't wait for the entire college community to see their incredible work at a special screening on December 11th!

This filmmaking project perfectly embodies our mission to support and nourish the diverse abilities and talents of our community by providing a broad co-curricular program. It's truly a testament to the exciting and holistic learning experiences available at Sholem Aleichem College, where every child has the opportunity to experience success and develop a strong sense of self, an unshakeable love of exploration and learning, and deep community ties.
